DEFNA offers grants to help community members organise their own Django-related events across North America.

About the Grant

DEFNA's community grants program supports members of the Django community who want to organise their own Django-related events across North America. Whether it's a local meetup, a study group, or a mini-conference, we want to help you make it happen.

Grants of up to $300 are available to cover costs such as venue hire, catering, materials, or promotion. Applications are reviewed by the DEFNA board, and a board member will reach out after you submit.

Eligibility

The event must be Django-related (meetup, workshop, conference, or sprint).
Events of all sizes are welcome — from small local meetups to regional conferences.
Grant funds must be used for event costs.

How to Apply

Complete the short form with details about your event, location, and budget.

Board review

The DEFNA board reviews your application, typically within two weeks.

We'll be in touch

A board member will contact you to discuss next steps and confirm the grant.

Once the grant is approved

Once the grant is approved and funds are released, please fill out this form for our records.
